Today marks the anniversary of my 48th trip around the sun–woohoo! Now I can really say that I am “pushing fifty”. LOL
Thanks to my dear friend THOR who was the first person to wish me happy birthday….he sent me a singing birthday card to my phone and I listened to it first thing this morning when I woke up; bright-eyed-and-bushy-tailed at 3:13am!
Yesterday while my son Thomas and I were out running errands, he asked me what I want for my birthday and I told him the next three Harry Potter books. I am half-way through book #3. “I thought you wanted a Bear Griylls knife for your bug-out-bag.?”
“I would much rather have a Pink Swiss Army Knife” I replied.
“Mom. Pink is not going help you when you’re out in the wilderness. You need a Bear Grylls knife. It can hack through trees and has a flint on the bottom of the handle/shaft. Bear Grylls says that a good knife is your number one survival tool.”
“Okay Thomas, whatever you think is best. Maybe I can wear it on my hip when I’m out walking or bicycling around, then no scary guys will mess with me, right?”
“A person who is bigger, stronger and faster, if they wanted to, could simply twist your arm and take your weapon from you. No, Mom. It’s a knife for survival in the wild, not a defense weapon.”
“That’s fine then, okay, get me a Bear Grylls knife for my bug-out-bag. Maybe having the knife will get me motivated to start collecting the other things I need to put in it?”

It doesn’t have that nice blow dryer on it that the Swiss Army one has are you sure that’s what you want? hehehe
haha…believe it or not, when I go backpacking and camping the only makeup I bring is my EYEBROW PENCIL. Someday I’ll get them tattooed on and won’t even need that
