I am a Lorax

I am the Lorax. I speak for the trees. I speak for the trees for the trees have no tongues.”
Dr. Seuss, The Lorax

TREES HAVE A TALK

“Look at all the people”

Said little tree to his friend

“They’re always in such a hurry

Us, our limbs, to rend”

“Oh them? They’re not people”

Big tree retorted back

“They’re what we call slaves

Can’t you hear the loud whip crack”?

“It drives them every day

Chasing dreams that kill us trees

They never have enough

Just hope God hears our pleas”

“Gosh”said little tree, nodding his leaves

“I never saw it before

Now I don’t know who

To feel more sorry for”

“Us trees or those poor slaves

Sighing beneath greedy master

While we enjoy the sunshine

But their lives only move faster

Yeah, looks to me like big disaster!”
